Quality Craftsmanship in Moncton, New Brunswick

Winter Collection

New year, new products. The past few weeks have been busy with new designs. Several of these will be special, one-of-a-kind items, and some might be the beginning of new series.

Large Walnut Charcuterie Board

My specialty is in edge-grain and end-grain cutting boards: the design possibilities are endless. But a face-grain board has an appeal all its own, and it gives a place to shine for the wood’s natural grain pattern. With that thought in mind, I’ve produced my first large walnut charcuterie board. I decided to keep the knots and knot-holes as natural features rather than cut them out. With lots of room for your delicious spread, this is Kinship Crafts’ largest charcuterie board to date.

Dusk until Dawn (NB 015)

Of all the boards I built last year, my personal favourite was Chieftain’s Hall. After delivering it to the customer, I went to work on its successor, Dusk until Dawn. A beautiful take on an age-old theme.

In preparation for Second Breakfast, I collected a few leftover pieces from other designs, making sure to add a Padauk strip for added flavour. Second Breakfast is a treat. It features a large cutting surface with a thinner, lighter profile.

Domestic Love Charcuterie Board

Returning for a moment to charcuterie boards, I still haven’t settled on a design for a standardized series. The #1 candidate for the moment is Domestic Love, a pattern to suggest tender affections and built form walnut, maple and cherry.

Prepper’s Pantry is the first end-grain pattern of the year and comprises three unique, one-of-kind cutting boards, each a variation on the same theme. Number 16 is available now, with 17 and 18 soon to follow.
