At last, after a long hiatus and a busy July, the time has come to post my new collection for the Summer of 2022. For many of us, this has been the first summer in several years we’ve been able fully to enjoy, so let’s make the best of it!
Domestic and Exotic Woods
In keeping with the summer theme and the warm weather we’ve had, many of this year’s boards feature hot red padauk in contrast and combination with domestic staples like walnut, maple, and cherry.
Those with a keen eye might notice an unusual brown wood with a colour and grain pattern not quite like what you’d commonly see. This is the species goncalo alves, colloquially known as “tiger wood”.
And finally, two special boards received the royal treatment with narrow strips of purple heart – a first for us at Kinship Crafts.
